During 2013 we established a business continuity management system for one of the UK’s top tourist attractions.
Through 2012, our scenario testing programme for several customers included flooding scenarios and workshops. We were concerned during the Spring when the Environment Agency put the country on standby for an “environmental drought”. And hence were probably among the few to be cheerful when the heavens opened through the summer.
Our other recent business continuity activities included the regular rounds of desktop walkthrough exercises and IT disaster recovery test witnessing and reporting.
IT Criticality Studies
We carried out another of our extensive IT Criticality Studies, a name we use to describe a Business Impacts Analysis whose scope is restricted to IT systems, and has proved popular among IT departments which need to refresh their understanding of business prioritisation from a pure IT perspective, without the additional scope of non-IT processes.
On the professional development level, we continue to be an active member and on the committee of the South West Forum of the Business Continuity Institute, which meets in Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter.
